Samsung has offered a teasing glimpse at the future generation of the popular P2 PMP.
The P3 is a handheld PMP that sports a large touchscreen and smooth black finish. The first round of pictures shows a device very similar to the P2, with a different finish, the entire gadget is made from aluminum, and different user interface.
The Samsung P3 feature haptic feedback, a 3" LCD display with a resolution of 480 x 272 pixels, Bluetooth 2.0, FM radio, microphone, mono speaker, and a capacity of either 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB.
Audio support is board, and includes: MP3, OGG, WMA, AAC, and lossless FLAC. Video support is also fairly nice, with support for MPEG4, H.264 Quicktime, and WMV. If you're the type to carry photos, the player also supports BMP, PNG, and JPEG. The player is expected to be officially launched at CES 2009 in January.
