Nokia Unveils New N-Series & XpressMusic Cellphones

Nokia's very own N-Gage gaming service resurrected. Also, launch of Nokia's music store.

Nokia today launched two versions of N95, N81 along with duo of XpressMusic mobile phones.

Two variants of the popular N95 smartphone have been launched. The 8GB N95 now comes in black exteriors. It will sport a 1200 mAh battery instead of the original 950 mAh one. Another major redesign happens to be in the screen size, the new model features  a 2.8-inch screen. The Nokia N95 8GB model is expected to be available for around $760 as an unlocked phone.

Nokia also introduced a new version of N95 with 3G support for North American GSM networks. N95 users can now use HSDPA on 850MHz and 1900MHz bands and enjoy faster mobile internet connectivity. It also comes with pre-installed assisted GPS function and 1GB microSD card for $699. Availability is expected from September.

The N81 from Nokia is a Symbian smartphone featuring a 2.4-inch TFT display with QVGA resolution. It comes equipped with Wi-Fi,  EDGE/HSDPA and Bluetooth with A2DP compatibility. This model will also feature some dedicated gaming keys and 8GB of flash-based internal memory along with two cameras for taking pics and video calls. The N81 also happens to be a gaming phone. It's the first to support the new N-gage gaming platform after the original N-gage phones.

Two other XpressMusic edition cellphones have also been launched, namely the Nokia 5610 and Nokia 5310.
