Review: Crucial Gizmo! 1GB USB DriveBy:Rob Williams Date:2005-9-20 11:32:48 |
Today we are reviewing Crucial's Gizmo! Hi-Speed USB 1GB Flash Drive. USB drives are the latest craze in tech gadgets, you see them all over today, and are a must have for any PC enthusiast. They all come in a variety of memory capacities, from 128MB to as large as 2GB, and are a great alternative to floppy and zip discs, being smaller and less likely to get damaged. They are great for storing documents, photos and music.
So before we get into the specs and review for the Crucial's Gizmo, here is a quick bio about their company!
About Crucial
The Crucial story starts with Micron Technology, Inc., one of the largest dynamic random access memory (DRAM) manufacturers in the world and the only one based in the U.S. Headquartered in Boise, Idaho, Micron manufactures DRAM chips and assembles them into high-quality memory modules for sale to original equipment manufacturers ("OEMs") worldwide.

Packaging & Features
As pictured the Crucial Gizmo comes in a plastic casing. Now, if you've read any of my prior reviews then you know how I despise that hard to open, finger and limb slicing, plastic packaging. But Crucial was wise to the horrible plastic packaging, and made the casing extremely easy to open. The display was simple, showcasing the drive well. I was pleased to say the least.
