Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme vs. Super CoolersBy:Sergey Lepilov Date:2007-7-23 10:21:49 |
The Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme is the best air cooler I have ever tested in the total of its characteristics. When cooling an overclocked quad-core CPU it is only second to the Enzotech Ultra-X, but the difference is negligible. And the Ultra-120 eXtreme is better in terms of noise. The new cooler is superior to the Scythe Infinity in every parameter: it performs better by 4-5ˇăC at peak CPU load and is more compact and does not bend the mainboard. Moreover, the Ultra-120 eXtreme doesn't call for a second fan. Installing a second fan on it doesn't increase its performance much and doesn't help achieve a much higher CPU frequency at overclocking.
As a result of our today's test session, we are proud to award Thermalright Ultra-120 eXtreme with our Editor's Choice as the today's best processor air cooler.
